Inspiration

We have maintained typing-related websites since 1996. Despite predictions in the 2000s that voice recognition would replace typing, keyboarding remains the most popular way to write prompts even after 25 years. Today, with AI advancements, typing continues to be a valuable and relevant skill. Exploring various dynamic keyboarding related website ideas with BOLT.NEW was truly inspiring. I enjoyed experimenting with different layouts and dynamic content before choosing to create this Typing Speed Simulator project, which perfectly demonstrates the power of AI-assisted web design.

What It Does

This unique interactive typing speed simulator and ROI Calculator visually shows how much faster and more efficient 10-finger touch typing is compared to the slower, manual 2-finger hunt-and-peck method.

How We Built It

BOLT.NEW generated the entire project, but I made some layout tweaks using Visual Studio and uploaded the changes—especially after running low on tokens I had to cancel some latest interactive updates so the latest version has some differencies.

Challenges We Ran Into

Since BOLT.NEW initially created the project as a web app, I had to instruct it to also convert the build output into a static HTML5 page with all necessary assets. This bolt project has now both the app and static page that it will maintain, but the good news is that there is really no need for back-end server at all. Any static web server will be able to host this project.

Accomplishments We're Proud Of

The unique concept seamlessly integrates with typingmaster website, providing our users with a fresh and valuable tool.

What We Learned

Working with BOLT.NEW was a rewarding journey that showcased the future of web development—where AI and human creativity collaborate to build amazing experiences.

What’s Next for Compare Hunt-and-Peck VS Touch Typing

Future versions will aim to be even more interactive and engaging for users.
