Inspiration
Imagine having a fashion stylist living inside your browser.
You're shopping for an upcoming event. You have five dresses open across different tabs, and you're trying to figure out which one is actually worth buying.
One looks amazing, but will it suit you? Another fits your aesthetic, but is it right for the event? A third looks perfect on the model — but what will it actually look like on you?
The best experience isn't:
Screenshot → copy link → ask AI → repeat.
It's:
Open product → get your stylist's opinion → move to the next product.
That's why we built Compare.ai — a Chrome shopping extension with a fashion stylist that lives inside your browser and follows you from product to product.
No screenshots. No copying links. No leaving your shopping experience.
What It Does
🛍️ A Stylist That Follows You
Compare.ai stays with you while you shop.
Open a product, and your stylist analyzes it. Move to the next product, and it analyzes that one too.
It evaluates each garment against you and the context you're shopping for — including your body proportions, skin tone, personal aesthetic, event, priorities, and deal-breakers.
Instead of manually comparing five products, your stylist builds that comparison for you.
✨ See Your Options On You
Perfect Corp.'s virtual try-on technology powers the visual side of the experience.
Compare.ai uses virtual try-on to generate images of the shopper wearing the garments, giving our decision engine a visual representation of each option rather than relying only on the retailer's product photo.
This lets us move from:
“Does this look good on the model?”
to:
“How does this option actually work on me?”
🧠 Personalized Fashion Intelligence
Compare.ai doesn't treat every shopper the same.
From the shopper's photo, we derive visual attributes such as body proportions and skin tone/undertone, which are then used across product evaluations.
Our decision engine evaluates each garment across:
Body • Neckline • Fit • Color • Fabric • Silhouette • Occasion • Versatility • Trend • Value
It also checks the shopper's hard deal-breakers and buying priorities.
👗 KEEP / SKIP
After analyzing a product, Compare.ai turns all that information into something simple and actionable:
KEEP or SKIP
with a short explanation of the biggest reason behind the recommendation.
No generic product descriptions.
The goal is to explain why this specific garment works — or doesn't — for this specific shopper.
🏆 Find The Winner
Once you've explored your options, Compare.ai compares the garments against each other, rather than scoring them only in isolation.
It identifies the strongest option, surfaces meaningful differences between products, and eliminates options that violate your hard deal-breakers.
So if you started with five dresses for one event, you don't have to figure out the winner yourself.
Your stylist already compared them.
How We Built It
Compare.ai is a Chrome shopping extension that brings an AI fashion stylist directly into the shopping journey.
We combine:
- Perfect Corp. virtual try-on for visualizing the shopper wearing each garment
- Person profiling for body proportions and skin tone/undertone
- Garment analysis for objective clothing attributes
- A personalized compatibility engine for fit, color, silhouette, occasion, style, versatility, trend, value, and deal-breakers
- A comparison engine that ranks multiple products against each other
Perfect Corp. is what makes the experience visual. Instead of asking shoppers to screenshot products or paste links into an AI chatbot, Compare.ai can bring virtual try-on directly into the shopping journey and use those visual results as part of the comparison experience.
What We Learned
We learned that AI shopping assistance is most useful when it is seamless, visual, personalized, and actionable.
Shoppers don't necessarily need another chatbot describing products.
They need a stylist that can follow them while they shop, understand the person, visualize the options, compare them, and help make the decision.
Challenges
Our biggest challenge was turning subjective fashion preferences into a consistent, explainable decision.
We had to combine visual try-on results, personal attributes, garment characteristics, event context, buying priorities, and hard deal-breakers into one simple recommendation.
The result is Compare.ai — a fashion stylist that lives in your browser and follows you from product to product.
