Inspiration
- I'm an avid cyclist and environmentalist, and I recently noticed the bike counters added on Market street in the last month, so I started thinking about the data and it grew from there
What it does
- Allows friends or coworkers to have a competitve drive toward biking, not necessarily messured through speed. But also, though sf data we can get information about areas that are historically dangerous for cyclists.
How I built it
- lots of coffee
Challenges I ran into
- The arduino theoretically does do everything it is supposed to do, but the sensors aren't sensitive enough - or the GPS is unreliable, that I had to mock the data returned.
What's next for Commuter Incentive
- embedded hardware for your bicycle with GPS tracking location - helpful in pinning the counter locations and added benefit of theft protection.
Built With
- arduino
- here-developer-platform
- javascript
- jquery
