Inspiration

The inspiration behind the Commutee app came from our desire to create a solution that could make a positive impact on people's daily lives. We recognized that there was a need for a tool that could help commuters find the best route to work and the most suitable mode of transportation.

Our app is designed to be user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy for anyone to use. Whether you're a seasoned commuter or someone who's new to the area, the Commutee app can help you navigate your way to work with ease.

We also recognize the impact that commuting can have on the environment, and we want to encourage users to make more sustainable transportation choices. By providing users with information about the most eco-friendly modes of transportation, such as biking, walking, or taking public transit, we hope to inspire more people to reduce their carbon footprint.

What it does

The Commutee app is a powerful tool that helps commuters find the shortest and most efficient route to their workplace. Our app is designed to take the stress out of commuting, providing users with all the information they need to make informed decisions about their transportation choices.

The Commutee app uses advanced algorithms to calculate the best route to work based on various factors, such as traffic conditions, distance, and mode of transportation. Users simply enter their starting location and their destination, and the app will provide them with the quickest and most efficient route.

But the Commutee app does more than just provide directions. It also helps users choose the best mode of transportation based on their preferences and circumstances. For example, the app can recommend public transit options for users who want to avoid driving, or suggest biking or walking routes for those who want to get some exercise while commuting.

How we built it

The Commutee app was built using a combination of several web development technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SCSS, and Bootstrap. These technologies work together to create a responsive, user-friendly interface that is easy to use and navigate.

JavaScript is a popular programming language that is used to create interactive and dynamic web pages. It is particularly useful for creating the various features of the Commutee app, such as the real-time updates on traffic conditions and transit schedules, personalized alerts, and the built-in carpooling feature.

HTML and CSS are the backbone of web development, used to structure and style the various elements of the Commutee app. HTML is used to create the basic structure of the app, while CSS is used to style the different components of the user interface, such as buttons, navigation bars, and text fields.

SCSS, or Sassy CSS, is a preprocessor that extends the capabilities of CSS, making it easier and more efficient to style complex web applications. It is particularly useful for creating the responsive design of the Commutee app, ensuring that it works seamlessly across different devices and screen sizes.

Finally, Bootstrap is a popular CSS framework that is used to create responsive, mobile-first web applications. It provides a range of pre-built components and styles, such as navigation bars, buttons, and forms, which can be easily customized and integrated into the Commutee app.

Together, these technologies form the foundation of the Commutee app, allowing it to provide users with a powerful, intuitive, and responsive experience that simplifies the process of commuting to work.
