CommuteCloud Product Update — August 2026

We updated several CommuteCloud features. These changes improve notifications, verification, seat requests, cancellations, bonus cashout, and carpool requirements.

Push and Email Notifications

Users can now select push notifications or email notifications for carpool updates.

CommuteCloud sends a notification when relevant information about a carpool match changes.

Email Verification

CommuteCloud now supports email verification.

Email verification adds another verification method to the CommuteCloud Trust & Safety system.

Users must verify their email address before they can receive email notifications.

Updated Seat Reservation Process

We changed the Rider seat request process.

A seat request does not become a confirmed reservation immediately. Each request now has a seat status.

The Driver can review the request and decide whether to approve it. The Rider can view the current status of the request.

Updated Cancellation Process

We updated the cancellation rules for both Drivers and Riders.

The updated interface gives users clearer information about when they can cancel a carpool or seat reservation.

Bonus Cashout Update

Users must now select a business partner location when they cash out a bonus.

This change associates each bonus cashout with the location where the user redeems the bonus.

Two-Seat Minimum for Carpools

A Driver must now make at least two passenger seats available when the Driver creates a carpool.

This requirement helps increase the number of seats that are available to Riders.

These updates improve the systems that support carpool coordination, user verification, reservations, and CommuteCloud bonus activity.
