The motivation to write this app comes from our personal experience of dealing with Missouri's bipolar weather
What it does
It knows your daily commutes and notifies you of significant weather changes.
How we built it
It's made entirely in Swift and queried meta data through Visual Crossing's API

The biggest challenge was learning Swift's frameworks for backend and frontend
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning completely new frameworks a usable an app in less than two days
What we learned
The backend and frontend development environment for Apple's products. We ran into a couple of paywalls that prevented us from using services that we intended on using but the ecosystem had some strengths, especially in terms of what you can do with the UI out of the box using Apple's SwiftUI
What's next for Commute Buddy
We hope to continue developing this app as an open-source project. We don't have major business plans with it but we would love it to be used by as many people as possible!
