Inspiration
To find contact number of senior or alumni members in my college for guidance can be a tedious task, often resulting in delayed responses. To this make process easy and reduce time consumption, I have developed this prototype
What it does
CommunitySchool is a web app where college students can ask questions and access resources, such as preparation strategies written by their peers. Senior can share their preparation strategies and experience.
How we built it
I built frontend using React.js and Material UI and for backend I used Node.js, Hono Library for HTTP request , Primsa as ORA and PostgreSQL as database
Challenges I ran into
There is getting error while fetching data from backend like it showing CORS error and also while deploying frontend on 'Vercel' it took long time to remove error.
Accomplishments that I 'm proud of
Deployment part was the biggest hurdle for me. It took more time than any other part of this project. Finally I did it
What I learned
I gained knowledge of new technologies while developing this web application. Whenever I encountered errors, I googled it up and learn the correct way. This project also provided me with the opportunity to work with PostgreSQL, a database system I had not used before. Additionally, participating in this hackathon taught me how to effectively manage my time and work efficiently under pressure, as it is my first experience in a hackathon.
What's next for CommunitySchool
To develop this application fully so that it would be used by my friend's in college
