Inspiration

We wanted to incentivize people to do good in their community, and become well informed and well rounded citizens.

What it does

CommunityCache's map displays all nearby community events that users can partake in. When they attend an event, they will receive a special access code that they can input into CommunityCache in order to earn points and unlock badges.

How we built it

CommunityCache's frontend is built using HTML and CSS, while the backend is built using Python. The two are tied together using the Django framework.

Challenges we ran into

Learning how to create a database model and implement it in such a short period of time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting the Google Maps API to interact with CommunityCache and show accurate location data.

What we learned

We learned that hackathons are a lot of work for just two people.
