Inspiration

After spending a year online, due to COVID, we realized we wanted to promote more connectedness between people. While our communities hold so much potential for relationships, we are often unsure of how to build those relationships. This website will help unite and connect people by creating an environment where people can meet and interact.

What it does

This is an online website that allows community members to connect with other people in their neighborhood. The website collects information about local events allowing the user to be informed of what’s happening around them. This includes social events as well as volunteer opportunities.

How we built it

Our website was built using HTML and CSS>

Challenges we ran into

We all have some knowledge of HTML and CSS; however, we have never had to implement it on such a large scale before. Thus, we faced some coding challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are extremely proud of the fact that we were able to create a finished and functional website within the time. As said before, none of us have done anything like this before. We are also proud of our communication and time management and how well things seemed to flow. On the website itself, we are extremely proud of the image-slider as well as the forms, buttons and overall functionality.

What we learned

We all learned more about coding and the process it is. Also, our problem-solving skills and thinking processes have absolutely changed as a result. We now know much more about what it is like to try and come up with a solution for a problem, and create something, from scratch, that can solve it.

What's next for Locality

Next, we continue to brainstorm. This may be a good idea, but we need to turn this website into something bigger. It needs to become not just something that people will want, but will need.
