💡 Inspiration
We noticed that citizens often face two major problems: local civic issues take forever to get reported, and in times of emergency or legal disputes, common people don't know their basic legal rights or quick actions to take. We wanted to build a one-stop AI solution that acts as a digital first-responder for the community.
🛡️ What it does
Community Hero delivers three main foundational modules:
- Verified Citizen Complaint Registration: Allows citizens to log local anomalies via typing or an integrated dynamic Voice-to-Text conversion simulator.
- Smart Travel Escort SOS Hub: Formulated for crisis control, listening dynamically for specified hands-free vocal safe-words to simulate rapid authority notification matrix nodes.
- Legal Mitra AI: A conversational intelligence node powered by Gemini that gives immediate compliance guidance, structured action plans, and emergency support numbers.
🛠️ How we built it
The platform is built using Streamlit for a fast, interactive UI layer, Pandas for localized community log management, and the official Google GenAI SDK (google-genai) using the gemini-2.0-flash model. We specifically designed an internal failover architecture to ensure high availability and robust performance during judge testing.
🧠 Challenges we faced
Integrating multiple dynamic components like custom audio-trigger simulations alongside a live LLM streaming pipeline within Streamlit's stateless execution flow was tricky. We overcame this by setting up distinct state management layers and adding defensive fallback matrices for total resilience.
📈 What we learned & What's next
We deepened our knowledge of prompt design engineering, safety guardrails, and rapid prototyping. Next, we aim to integrate actual geolocation hardware protocols and scale the backend pipeline into fully automated civic dashboard pipelines.
