We have realized that there are so many websites that offer jobs, volunteer, and event opportunities. To simplify this perfect-match-finding process, we created the Community Helper. The Community Helper asks users to input some information about them in order to help them find an opportunity that matches their liking. We built this program using HTML. Since it was our first encounter with HTML, we faced many challenges. Our biggest challenge was writing code with HTML because we never had the chance to fully understand the language. Even the most simple tasks that could have be done in minutes took us hours to figure out the error. It was very stressful that we had to watch numerous videos and read multiple websites that did not provide with what we need. We think that our first successful line of HTML code is was we're most proud of. Although it was just a couple lines of code that worked after hours, the fact that it successfully functioned made us feel accomplished and one step closer to our goal. Though our program is extremely simple and somewhat not practical, we are extremely proud to see our first HTML program working without any errors. From this opportunity, we learned to use HTML and we also understood to use it like any other language. For Community Helper, we hope to learn more of HTML in order for our program to produce a list of opportunities, not taking the user to an outside resource.
