Inspiration
We were inspired by the Covid-19 pandemic which has come to influence many aspects of our lives. With the recent release of the Covid vaccine, we realized that there currently doesn't exist a proper identification or proof of vaccination besides little pieces of paper. We decided to combat this issue by developing a mobile application that serves as a passport for vaccinated people. After starting the development of the app, we realized that we could implement contact tracing and crowd control using RFID and Cloud technology. By doing so, we would be able to control future pandemics.
What it does
Our app verifies user safety and relays the information to hospitals or businesses managing large crowds.
How we built it
Our solution utilizes and integrates android-studio with firebase database technology along with a web-based application to enable users to log in, verify their vaccine information, and track their history location. We implemented an Arduino system using an RFID and ESP chip to integrate IoT.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating the hardware with Firebase.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making a working product that can truly benefit many lives.
What we learned
That cloud technology can be used to manage a large number of people.
What's next for Community Health
We hope to contact data scientists and hospitals for their professional advice on how to better our app.
