My contribution to the Community Event Hub project focused on both backend and integration work. I designed and implemented the CockroachDB schema for events, users, and registrations, ensuring scalability and reliability. I also developed the API endpoints in Node.js/Express to handle event creation, user registration, and data retrieval. On the AWS side, I integrated S3 for event image storage, configured Lambda + SNS to send notifications when new events were published, and set up SES for registration confirmation emails. Additionally, I worked on connecting these services meaningfully — for example, saving S3 image URLs into CockroachDB and triggering Lambda functions directly from backend workflows. I also contributed to frontend integration by wiring React components to these APIs, so users could see live event data and receive notifications. Finally, I helped with testing and deployment, ensuring the system ran smoothly on AWS and monitoring logs via CloudWatch.
