Inspiration

We were inspired by accounts of other people who have struggled with mental health. Additionally, this site is inspired by online portals/community centers where resources are centralized in a main site with different resources per category. By providing a site where these resources are easy to access, we wanted to promote personal growth and self-care, especially in regards to well-being and mental health.

What it does

This project exposes people to resources that they did not know that they will need. The site's design conceptualizes an online portal where users can find resources based on different issues and concerns, along with a personal profile section for saving these resources and a journal.

How we built it

We built our project using Replit, with a framework of HTML, Javascript, and CSS styling, along with Figma for the prototype. When designing the project, we focused on providing an easily accessible user interface, such as a calming color scheme, user menu, and a user profile where people can write in a personal journal or save articles and resources on the site that they would like to return to.

Challenges we ran into

Most of us are beginners, especially in web development, therefore we did not know too much about coding for most of the site. Also, we did not have much time to learn the code to use in the project, especially since some of the ideas in this project were relatively complex. As the site itself is unfinished due to timing constraints, this presentation focuses on the design of the interface and the thought process behind designing this project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we are able to show that we care about others. We are also proud of being able to learn to code and research, especially when developing an user interface and designing a website.

What we learned

We learned more about mental health by research and learned some basic web development, along with working on our collaboration skills to realize this project.
