Inspiration
When being shown the examples at the beginning of the event we were inspired to make a community call. We figured that classic bulletin boards at community centers especially schools could do well online with multiple connections.
What it does
Our site allows the user to be informed about a public online bulletin board where they could find their community and speak on issues in their area. They are informed by the site and then able to advocate for change or even reach out to others.
How we built it
We used html to build our site on replit. We then used some css and javascript to add more details to our overall site.
Challenges we ran into
Formatting our logo. We had an issue with how it looked and fit into the header. Our biggest issue was fitting the logo into the proper space.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The color palette was one that we really liked along with our logo. Our contact page also came along really nicely with the user input.
What we learned
How to properly format and keep track of separate elements within the code. We also learned how to effectively use different resources.
What's next for Community Connect
A proper UI design. Currently our user interface is lacking and could use better design. Once more care comes into the site design we can start expanding into an online space for communities to use.
