Inspiration

The journey of finding a perfect home—whether for buying or renting—is often overwhelming. In the pursuit of a cozy space that offers essential amenities at an affordable price, many users turn to property listing platforms. However, most of these platforms only highlight the positives, leaving out crucial insights about the real experience of living there. Often, the real value of a property is discovered only after the deal is done. Making such a significant decision without proper research can quickly turn into a nightmare.

What it does

Choosing a home isn’t just about where you live—it’s about how you want to live. Our app, Commune, is designed to simplify this decision-making process by combining the power of AI-driven property discovery with lifestyle curation. It goes beyond listings to help users evaluate not just the property, but the community, convenience, and compatibility with their personal lifestyle. With AI assistance, community features, and credible data insights, we empower users to make smarter, more holistic decisions.

How we built it

Backend: We used Supabase to manage authentication, real-time data, and our database layer.

Frontend: The mobile app is built with React Native for cross-platform compatibility.

AI Agents: For intelligent guidance and user interaction, we used Flask, Ollama, CrewAI, and integrated custom LLM agents. Together, these technologies helped us create an intuitive, intelligent, and interactive experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of the unexpected challenges was using bolt.new, which unintentionally deleted key components we had implemented. Recovering lost work and re-integrating essential features that were overwritten was both time-consuming and technically demanding.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We reimagined the way people explore real estate—shifting the focus from just price and amenities to well-being, community, and lifestyle fit. A standout feature in our app is a multi-user EV charging station locator integrated with shared community spaces, promoting sustainability and collective living.

What we learned

This project reinforced our ability to think outside the box and approach problems from a user-centric and future-forward perspective. We learned how to use AI not just as a gimmick, but as a meaningful enhancement to user experience.

What's next for Commune

Integrate blockchain-based smart contracts to make legal processes more transparent and tamper-proof.

Form partnerships with legal, financial, and maintenance service providers to offer end-to-end real estate solutions.

Incorporate embedded finance to simplify home loans, rent payments, insurance, and utility management.

Expand community-driven features like reviews, social events, and shared amenities to enhance real-life connectivity. Enhance the AI system with a multi-agent architecture to streamline and simplify property research, offering users intelligent, task-specific agents for personalized and efficient decision-making.
