Inspiration

This was my first hackathon. I initially planned to build an image board with voting features, but along the way, I realized I wanted to create something more meaningful—something that could genuinely help people and make an impact. So, I built an app inspired by Reddit, where users can discuss and crowdsource solutions for local issues in their communities.

What does "Commora" mean?

"Commora" is a made-up word that combines meaningful elements: "Comm-" hints at "Community" or "Common", while "-ora" is a Latin-sounding ending often meaning "hour", "time", or relating to speaking (like "orator"). Together, it represents a time and place for community voices to be heard.

What it does

A community-driven platform for reporting local issues, proposing solutions, and collaborating to improve neighborhoods. Commora empowers communities to identify, discuss, and solve local challenges together through transparent, democratic participation.

Through Commora, residents can report local issues, propose solutions, vote on priorities, and collaborate with experts—all within a transparent, inclusive, and innovative system. From potholes to safety concerns, Commora turns civic engagement into collective action, building stronger communities from the ground up.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting this project completed.

What we learned

I learned a lot—this was my first hackathon, and I’m pretty satisfied with how it turned out.

What's next for Commora

I plan to continue improving the project. I've created a GitHub repository to host the code and track future updates.
