Inspiration

The inspiration for our project was how we all shared a common pain point during finals week. We all would have track our grades with multiple tabs of a final grade calculator. The problem with this was that it wasn’t centralized (we had to keep multiple tabs open) and it wasn’t persistent so if the tab was refreshed we would have to retype every assignments grade and weight.

What it does

Common Sense Coursebook helps users keep track of their grades in a easy way.

How we built it

We first designed how we wanted the project to look on AdobeXD. We then decided to use ReactJS as we felt the library would be beneficial.

Challenges we ran into

Just staying awake was a challenge for us. As we fought to stay awake we learned our biggest challenge was our inexperience with ReactJS as it was all of our first time using the library.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of what we were able to accomplish within a 36 hour window as a 3 man team.

What we learned

Through this hackathon we were able to gain lots of valuable knowledge mainly with front-end development and ReactJS. Although very tiring, what we have learned will prove to be very beneficial in the future.

What's next for Common Sense Coursebook

As a team, we definitely want to expand on this project and further our learning. We feel with more time we will be able to grow Common Sense Coursebook by adding more features.
