Inspiration

As AI agents become capable of making purchases and payments, traditional payment security is not enough. We were inspired to build a security layer that can understand an AI agent’s intent, detect suspicious behavior, and authorize transactions before money is moved.

What it does

Commerce Sentinel provides real-time security and authorization for agentic commerce. It monitors AI-driven payment requests, checks intent and risk, detects potential fraud or prompt injection, and allows, blocks, or flags transactions before they are processed through Razorpay.

How we built it

We built Commerce Sentinel using a combination of AI, real-time event processing, authorization rules, and Razorpay APIs. Payment events are received through webhooks, analyzed for risk and intent, and passed through our authorization layer before the transaction is approved. A real-time monitoring dashboard provides visibility into transaction status, risk alerts, and security decisions.

Challenges we ran into

Our main challenges were handling real-time payment events, securely integrating Razorpay, preventing unauthorized AI-agent actions, and balancing strong security with a smooth payment experience. We addressed these using webhook-based event handling, risk-based authorization, validation rules, and Razorpay Test Mode for safe testing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully created a working prototype that adds a dedicated security layer between AI agents and payment systems. We are proud of its real-time monitoring, risk-based authorization, fraud detection, and ability to provide visibility into AI-driven transactions.

What we learned

We learned how agentic commerce introduces new security risks beyond traditional payment fraud. We also gained practical experience with payment APIs, webhooks, real-time systems, AI-based risk analysis, and designing authorization workflows for autonomous agents.

What's next for Commerce Sentinel

We plan to enhance Commerce Sentinel with more advanced AI threat detection, adaptive risk scoring, behavioral analysis, stronger prompt-injection protection, multi-payment-provider support, and production-grade fraud prevention. Our goal is to make Commerce Sentinel a trusted security layer for the future of autonomous commerce.
