Inspiration

Offering a chance for volunteers to find more available opportunities in their immediate area, lots of smaller communities like Denton, South Dallas, Plano etc. We wanted to benefit the community while improving volunteering opportunities for students.

What it does

Connects non-profit organizations to local volunteers via volunteer assignments being posted/listed out

How we programmed it

We used VSCODE using Javascript extensions to code the website and used Firebase to run the database

Challenges we ran into

Multiple errors in routing, and rendering errors when merging branches of code

Accomplishments that we're proud of

walking each other through different problems and making further progress minimizing delay

What we learned

how to collaborate as a team to work towards the goal of positively impacting our community under difficult time constraints, by splitting our time to effectively execute on our idea.

What's next for CommConnect

Next, we plan to enhance the UI and add features like a tagging system to filter volunteer opportunities.
