Inspiration
The idea for Commads came from Linux, where most apps runs in command prompts, and known for its free, open-source apps. We want to make learning to use command a habbit, that's why we created this game.
What it does
It allows the player to have a real world simulation of a computer's command prompt. The game simulates a hacking experience or learning how to use
How we built it
We use python with a package that allows us to control the the command prompt to build it. With Google's Gemini as the AI in this game, we have done our best to make it output what a command prompt should output.
Challenges we ran into
It is out first time working with Gemini as it's API is relatively new, and we also used a package that we are not familiar with.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Cool looking Game Starting Page
- ASCII Title
- At least "running" code
What we learned
Building Commads made us realized how complex command-line interfaces can be. Although most responses are done by AI, but there are some cases we will still have to prompt a response or else there will be a error.
What's next for Commads?
As Commads continues to grow, focusing on educational integration might be a good idea, especially in computer science and cybersecurity. With the help of AI, this game could possibly simulate real world scenarios with no consequences for learning.
