Inspiration

The idea for the "comic strip" comes from the fact that stories are everywhere. A building can have lots of stories, especially in a city. We breathe new life into a city strip by transforming it into a comic strip, introducing fresh narratives that people can actively engage with.

What it does

We turn a historic city strip into 'Comic Strip.' An urban landscape within the city unfolds like a series of interconnected stories, with every block adding its own unique tale to the big city narrative. Each building, street corner, or neighborhood becomes a panel in this living narrative.

The comic strip offers a range of fantastic features, including:

FEATURES:

  • Explore the city through immersive storytelling.
  • Read the comic strip or be a part of the story.
  • Weekly comic strip releases.
  • Promote artists, businesses, and tourism.

How we built it

I used Adobe Aero to create augmented reality comic strips and pages, placing them in various locations around a city strip for people to explore and enjoy.

Challenges we ran into

The geospatial location in Adobe Aero is not in 3D form, unlike in other countries. Here in the Philippines, the map is flat, making it challenging to anchor images.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

"I am proud of the idea of turning a city strip into a comic strip. It's a fresh way to create a story around familiar sites, innovatively using augmented reality. People can enjoy this or be part of the story, while businesses promote their brands. For the city, it's a tourism tool to attract people to discover the city in a new light.

What we learned

Google Geospatial Creator in Adobe Aero is a great tool to unleash creativity and elevate storytelling.

What's next for Comic Strip

-Complete the Super Ordinary comic series. -Integrate "branded pages" into the comic strips for brand promotion.
