🎨 Inspiration
- I've seen a lot of cliché resumes and portfolios which are simple, minimal and often too alike. I wanted to break that pattern by building something crazy, unique and rare because... yolo right?
- Having attended Comic Con events, I was inspired by the energy, colors and creativity , those cosplayers, crazy posters, collectibles , it just screams of "extra" and "wild". That led made me think: ✨ What if I could do the same for a resume portfolio?! What if people open my portfolio and could feel like walking into a Comic Con?
🧩 What were you building?
- ...Hence... I built an immersive Comic Con-themed resume portfolio, that blends career storytelling with expressive comic-style art direction, vibrant colors, and animated interactions. Instead of presenting information in plain bullet points, this experience transforms a traditional portfolio into a lively, bold and unorthodox experience, making users feel as if they’re stepping into a Comic Convention ... with bold typography, dynamic visuals, and all. :D
🌀 How did it evolve?
“What if my portfolio didn’t look like everyone else’s?”
⚡ What it does
- The project is a 🦸Comic-Con themed interactive portfolio website that:
- Showcases my career, projects, and skills with comic-inspired visuals
- Provides an engaging, scroll-based user experience with animations & interactivity
- 📱 Responsive design: optimized for desktop and mobile , fluid typography, adaptive layouts, touch-friendly elements
- Navigation UX – Hover-activated navbar, smooth scrolling
🛠️ How I built it
- React 18 + TypeScript + Vite + SVG for a highly responsive, modern and scalable frontend
- Tailwind CSS v4 + Shadcn/UI for styling and components
- Animations: GSAP for scroll effects, card flips
- React Slick + Carousel for the 3D carousel project showcase
- Google Fonts (Bangers, Fredoka, Inter) for comic-book style typography
- Lazy Loading + Image Optimization for images and assets to optimize performance
- Github and Github Pages
🚧 Challenges I ran into
- Trying to balance playful Comic Con vibes with professional presentation (I still wanna get hired you know! Haha ;3)
- Optimizing performance while keeping animations smooth
- Debugging deployment errors (like GitHub Pages ENAMETOOLONG) it took me some time to figure out the issue that prevents me from deploying on Github Pages.
🏆 Accomplishments that I am proud of
- Built a fully responsive, Comic con themed portfolio from scratch in under hackathon time limits
- Integrated real life content and working features
- Achieved a smooth, immersive user experience with subtle animations
- Designed a unique visual identity that reflects both creativity and professionalism
- Created a unique Comic Con theme that stands out from traditional resumes and is instantly recognizable!!
📚 What I've learned
- Don’t follow the crowd—be unique! That’s what makes a portfolio truly unique! :D
- How to merge storytelling & design thinking into technical development
- The importance of accessibility and semantic design in themed websites
- That portfolios don’t just present information — they can engage, entertain, and inspire
- A portfolio is not just a resume , it’s an experience 🔥
🚀 What's next for Comic-Con FLAIR Themed Portfolio!
- Perhaps I could add 3D elements (Three.js) for immersive effects !!
- Expand the project section with more showcases
- Experiment with other fun portfolio themes beyond Comic Con
