Inspiration
Our group was inspired by our consensus about our desire to travel. This longing to explore has been abruptly put on hold by COVID-19, and we figured other people were most likely feeling the same way. We were looking for a way to give users a chance to experience a different culture while removing the need to travel abroad during these scary times.
What it does
Our project allows users to make choices based off what they would like to do in Singapore. They are able to adventure through various activities, try out different hotels, and experience the food.
How I built it
We built this project using Figma.
Challenges I ran into
We ran into a challenge trying to get the slider which allows the user to select the amount of days of their travel to function. The tutorial viewed to learn how to apply the concept to our design was followed exactly, but the slider still did not work. Something we could have done to fix this is working as a team and if a few other members watched the tutorial too, then maybe we could have figured out how to have it function.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We are proud that we were able to build an app within such a short period of time and one that is so relevant to a feeling of longing that everyone is currently experiencing.
What I learned
Through completing this project we learned many of the functions and capabilities of Figma. For example, we learned how to create and link components. We added different text boxes, photos, and details to each component, utilizing many different Figma functions.
What's next for Comfort Travel
The next steps for Comfort Travel include perfecting the slider feature. In addition, we hope to expand the number of countries users can travel to on our app.
