Inspiration Finding events on campus sucks. You have to join different group chats using different apps, and you're bombarded with notifications. Too often, you miss out on an event because you didn't know it existed.
What it does Allows anyone to add events, from clubs to study groups, to sports matches. Users can find what's happening around them in an interactive campus map, and use our smart advisor to get their most common questions on campus answered. Users can earn points for taking part on campus and earn rewards.
How we built it We developed a full-stack web application using Next.js for a responsive front-end, integrated Leaflet.js for the interactive map features, and leveraged the Google Gemini API to power our smart advisor. For the backend, we used Firebase for its robust authentication, real-time database, and secure data storage.
Challenges we ran into Some of our challenges we ran into were balancing learning a new library for maps, avoiding scope creep, and building a stable auth system for our users.
