Inspiration
Our app is inspired by the goal of helping the fashion community. ColourSense, can assist fashion enthusiasts and professionals in creating harmonious and visually attractive colour combinations for their outfits or designs.
What it does
ColourSense is a tool for identifying colours from images taken with a device's camera and generating complementary colours. By doing so, our app can help fashion enthusiasts and professionals create more cohesive and visually appealing colour schemes for their outfits or designs.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges with building ColourSense was identifying colour from images. We had to ensure that the colour recognition algorithm is accurate and reliable across a range of hue, saturation, lighting and image conditions. Overall, this required thorough testing to ensure consistent and accurate results.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
As a team, we take pride in our ability to tackle a real-world problem related to a technology that we use in our daily lives. It was especially rewarding to come up with a unique solution that integrated various application components. We take pride in ColourSense and everything we discovered along the way.
What we learned
During the development of this app, we learned how to create a GUI for Flutter using Dart and how to connect a device camera to the app. Additionally, we gained experience in extracting colours from the camera feed to assist the fashion community.
