Inspiration
Coloring is a simple way to relax, but most coloring apps offer either generic pages or overly complicated tools. We wanted to make coloring more personal—turning meaningful photos into creative moments while also offering a large collection of original themed packs.
That idea became ColorNest: a calm, playful space for memories, creativity, and everyday relaxation.
What it does
ColorNest lets users:
- Turn photos into private, playable coloring sheets
- Color with custom palettes, patterns, textures, brushes, and undo/redo
- Use Auto Color for instant creative inspiration
- Explore hundreds of original coloring stages across themed packs
- Complete daily picks, build streaks, earn coins, and unlock rewards
- Save favorites and continue unfinished artwork
- Share completed creations
- Keep personal photos private
Challenges we faced
The hardest part was making converted photos feel enjoyable to color. A good coloring sheet needs clear shapes, useful spaces, and a balanced level of detail. We carefully refined the experience so personal photos become cleaner, more relaxing, and more playable.
We also focused on making ColorNest feel welcoming for both quick creative breaks and longer coloring sessions. That meant balancing rich tools and rewards with a simple, calm experience.
What we learned
We learned that creative tools work best when they feel personal without becoming complicated. Small details—such as satisfying colors, easy controls, saved progress, and daily reasons to return—make a big difference.
Most importantly, we learned that privacy and creativity can go together. Personal photos should remain personal while still becoming something fun and expressive.
What's next for ColorNest
We plan to add more themed packs, improve photo-to-coloring results, introduce new creative tools, and make sharing artwork even more delightful.
ColorNest is designed to make coloring personal, relaxing, and always ready when inspiration strikes.
