Inspiration
We want to empower individuals to unlock their creative potential and explore their emotions through the therapeutic process of art-making. We believe that everyone has the capacity to heal and grow through self-expression, and we strive to provide a safe and supportive virtual space for our users to do just that. Our website offers a unique combination of tools for users to create artwork and keep a record of their journal entries, allowing them to not only visually capture their journey but also reflect on their growth and insights. Our goal is to help individuals cultivate a deeper understanding of themselves and find joy and peace in the creative process.
What it does
To get started, simply click the start tab on the homepage and choose your preferred method of expression - draw, collage, or photograph. Once you've generated a prompt, you can start your journal entry and add your artwork and reflections. You can also view your past entries and browse resources in the expanded menu.
Challenges we ran into
While working on the project, we encountered a setback when we accidentally overwrote our new code with old code. However, thanks to our version control system, we were able to recover our files without any loss of data. Another challenge we faced was debugging the CSS animations that didn't work as expected. But a quick break and collaborative programming session helped us identify and fix the issue.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our team is proud of several key accomplishments in this project. One of which is the integration of music into each page, adding a unique and personalized touch to the user's journaling experience. Another accomplishment is the implementation of a drawing feature where users can draw their own artwork and save it as a PNG image. This not only enhances the creative aspect of the journal, but also allows users to easily save and access their work in the future. Additionally, we successfully implemented a database to store each past entry, which was a new challenge for us. This allows users to easily revisit their journal entries and track their progress and growth.
What we learned
This project has been a valuable learning experience for our team. We discovered that we are capable of creating a high-quality product in a short amount of time, even if we are new to the task at hand. We enjoyed the process of learning and exploring new techniques, and are proud to have exceeded our expectations with this project. This experience has taught us the importance of teamwork, problem-solving, and the satisfaction of overcoming challenges. Overall, we are proud of what we have accomplished and are eager to apply what we've learned to future projects.
