Inspiration
We wanted to provide color-blind people to have the ability to see video games or any other applications without difficulties due to the colors. Our mission statement is to fill this need because there are often not enough color filters available to help color-blind individuals see. By doing so, they will be able to envision things they are unable to see.
What it does
This program allows the users to click with a simple button to change the color filters on their screen.
How we built it
We mostly utilized Python and several of its built-in libraries. Additionally, we made use of GitHub to make sure that the file is safely stored and used by everyone on our team.
Challenges we ran into
In the first few hours, we had difficulties choosing a product that we can all agree on because we wanted to be innovative. After choosing the project idea, we used Python and were successfully able to implement the features. Though, it took a lot of deep research within some of the library's documentation and time into how figuring how to change the color filter.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to select a topic from the very list and, in addition, we had a completely working application that operated as anticipated. The fact that we collaborated and worked as a team to change the color filter was itself a significant accomplishment.
What we learned
We learned that we could grab certain pixel parts on the screen and change the color of it and learned many programming skills in Python. In addition, we learned how to communicate as a team in a fast working environment.
What's next for Color Lens
Next, we shall work on the program to detect certain colors on the screen and change them according to the selected filter that the visually impaired individual cannot see.
