Inspiration
Our extension aims to address concerns about colorblind accessibility on the web.
What it does
Our project is a google extension that allows users to hover over images on websites and get information on the color of the pixel they hover over. The program informs the user of the RGB value and gives a simple description for the color (e.g. light blue, saturated red). Furthermore, users are able to manipulate the image using a variety of filters. They can select colors close to an inputted hue. For example, if someone has trouble differentiating between red and green, they and input the red hue and all other colors will be grayscaled or masked out. Users can also saturate selected images for better viewability, and copy any colors including the data they desire.
How we built it
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Git as VC, Google Extension.
Challenges we ran into
It was difficult to learn many of the various intricacies of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We worked together to create a project and learned alot about Hackathons and front end development!
What's next for Color Buddy
We hope that our creation makes the web more accessible for those who are color blind!
