Inspiration
When I saw colony network, it looked like slack+asana So I out to make one myself. A SINGLE-CLICK way to setup colony. Because the backend is just an incentivised task management system. But I ended up leaning more towards the asana side of things
Its just another organisation protocol, that gives you reputation and pays you for you task. And when I looked into this payment, I realised it can use any ERC20 token. And I have worked on DutchX before a part of https://eazy.exchange. So, I went about binding these 2 as well.
What it does
You can create a Colony, manage tasks and your wallet. You can also use your wallet balance to exchange in DutchX as a seller, within the app.
How I built it
Using cross-platform technology - react native and colonyJS SDK and Dutchx contracts
Challenges I ran into
Setting up colony with react-native was a complex challenge because of some tech compatibility issues between RN and colonyJS. But I ended up learning a lot and the mentors from colony team helped me a lot.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Right now, you don’t even know that there is blockchain involved, hence any lay person can use it, WITHOUT seeing any 0xes.
What I learned
dApps need more work in documentation and specially onboarding.
What's next for Colony Mobile (with DutchX)
Integrate the entire range of ColonyJS features. Make it easier to plugin any contract, not just DutchX with modular approach.
