Inspiration
Inspired by flash games such as Gravitee and wanted to expand upon the concepts that were established by such games.
What it does
Black Hole in One is a 2D golf golf based around gravity, physics in a vacuum, and various aspects of space. The game currently has 5 levels, increasing in difficulty with each one and introducing more concepts/mechanics. There are many interactive menus in order to allow for easy user navigation.
How we built it
Built with Unity Game Engine Version 6000.2.10f1, the game is made to be played on Windows machines currently, but Unity would allow for more expansion if desired.
Challenges we ran into
Initially we struggled for a while to come up with a complex idea that wouldn't be too simple or easy to implement. Other challenges include issues working within the Unity Engine itself, coding compilation errors, and sometimes issues with inconsistency between machines.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to make a fun to play game in a short span of time, although we have some previous game development experience, we had much more time to work with, so the challenge of the short timing is rewarding.
What we learned
We learned how to better work under a strict deadline and stress as a whole, as long as much more information about how Unity's physics work and how to better implement them as a whole. We also become much more familiar with the various ways to use A.I. in order to help with coding and solving issues that may arise.
What's next for Black Hole in One
Add more polish and make some ideas more fleshed out. More complex level design or more intricate detail.
