Inspiration
I noticed that the highest-performing students (Top 10% of the class) attend different colleges and have different majors than other students from my high school graduating class (Class of 2021).
What it does
The CollegeInsights website helps people predict what college a student will attend, and what they will major in, based on their grades, test scores, and their interests.
How I built it
I did the server coding with Python, and I wrote the content and designed my website with Adobe Dreamweaver.
Challenges I ran into
Since this is my first time using Python, I had to get help and look up video tutorials of how to use python; it was challenging.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am proud that I learned some Python, and some Adobe Dreamweaver. I'm able to make lists and add hyperlinks in Dreamweaver.
What I learned
I learned that I had to use the terminal in Visual Studio Code to run a website in Python.
What's next for CollegeInsights
I hope to add functional graphs, tables, and a map of colleges and universities in Kansas and the Kansas City Area in the future, along with a more streamlined font family. I also plan to add the ability to send emails to the website owner (myself) in the future.
