Inspiration
It is really hard for college students to understand where their money is being spent, and to use it efficiently. Thus, I developed a finance tracker that tracks down everything spent and categorized based on it. This project is to better visualize your spending in each category as a college student, and make sure you don't spend past your threshold. This project is targeted toward students needing financial aid so they can make sure they are spending the right amount over time.
What it does
This project tracks your finance over time and also your progress bar. For instance, if you can spend only 3000$ a month in total, the progress bar tells how far you are from spending 3000$ and ways to reduce the spending. This helps students with financial needs to see how much they are spending, and what is the max amount they should spend to prevent college debt.
How we built it
I built this using HTML and CSS for the frontend, with Django and Chart.js as the backend.
Challenges we ran into
I ran into effectively displaying ways a college student can reduce their expenditure.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud of developing skills in building financial applications, that help prevent students from going into college debt.
What we learned
I learned data visualization using Chart.js and web frameworks like Django, as well as debugging and testing skills.
