Inspiration

We found out that over 50% of college students struggle with managing their time. This can lead to stress and procrastination, which can even lead to the student failing the class. An interactive website that we provide helps counter the problem. In addition, what makes the website even more helpful and unique is by helping to inform incoming college freshmen and applicants about the economics of their major of interest. We have collected data on 174 possible majors and shown the median, 25th percentile, and 75th percentile income on average that people who get a starting job in that major receive. This prepares and helps students decide what major they want to do. Most websites today help students find majors based on interest, but our website does it based on the real world statistics and economics of each. ## What it does You can add task and set what days and how long you want to work on it. When you click on the task, it will bring up a timer that follows the Pomodoro technique which is proven to increase productivity.

How we built it

We built the time management portion with the Flask framework. We built the backend economics portion with node.js and express.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge was creating the database because we had to find data for all 174 majors, a painstaking process. One misstep could throw the whole thing off.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of making tasks with a timer that you can add and remove. We are proud that our website helps students with their productivity by using the Pomodoro technique. We are also proud of helping prospective students in finding their major.

What we learned

We learned how to make a database and using flask and writing backend code using node.js.

What's next for College Manager

We are planning to continue working on College Manager. We also plan on expanding our data base to include more statistics.
