Inspiration
As college students, we found it difficult to coordinate free time with friends. When there is time, we can't coordinate a good time to meet up. With the use of the College Coordinator, we can make having a social life easier!
What it does
It has a three-step process for the user. You can create a new schedule by inputting your first and last name. Then, you write the times you are free for the days of the week. Next, you add in your friends schedule with the same process, and submit! Voila! You have a generated Matching free time schedule under the second tab of the website "Find Friends Schedule." A weekly color-coordinated calendar is displayed showing your friends' free times.
How we built it
We built the website by using Flask microframework of Python.
Challenges we ran into
Common coding and bugging errors, as well as working with Javascript to generate the schedule.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Able to complete a functioning project within 36 hours.
What we learned
We learned time-management, team collaboration, and how to plan the design of the code from scratch.
What's next for College Coordinator?
Similar to social media, we hope for users to be able to create their own accounts. All users can then look up anyone by username, full name, phone number, or email by requesting access to their schedule. Users can then accept requests from others to access their availability. We also hope to get the running prototype working, so that the project will be in a form of an app as well as website
