π College Bus Tracker β Gemini Powered Smart Transportation System π Inspiration
Daily delays and confusion around college bus timings inspired me to build a smart tracking system that ensures students can know exactly where their bus is, when it will arrive, and how long it will take β powered by Gemini AI for intelligent predictions and analysis.
π§ What I Learned
Through this project, I learned:
How to connect Firebase for authentication and real-time data storage.
How to simulate and display live GPS tracking using JavaScript and Google Maps API.
How to integrate Gemini AI for natural language understanding and predictive analytics.
How to use Capacitor to add Android platform support and deploy the app.
π οΈ How I Built It
Built the web interface using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Integrated Firebase to manage user data and bus information.
Added Gemini API to analyze location data and predict Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) using logic like:
ETA
Distance Remaining Average Speed ETA= Average Speed Distance Remaining β
Deployed the project on Netlify and tested it on multiple devices.
Added support for Android using Capacitor.
β‘ Challenges Faced
Debugging Capacitor platform errors (missing appId and Android setup issues).
Ensuring real-time synchronization between Firebase and the frontend.
Getting Geminiβs predictions to stay consistent and meaningful.
UI adjustments across devices without using advanced frameworks.
π Outcome
A simple yet intelligent system where users can track, ask, and predict bus timings with the help of Gemini AI. The project demonstrates how AI can transform everyday transportation into a smart, efficient, and user-friendly experience.
