Inspiration

Due to the lack of free college API, I decided to build a comprehensive API that would serve the needs of developers like myself.

What it does

The API contains the list of colleges names in India and can be used in projects.

How we built it

The API is built with Node JS, Express JS, Mongoose and MongoDB

Challenges we ran into

As a first-time API builder, I ran into several challenges during the development of the College API. I had to learn new technologies, navigate complex documentation, and troubleshoot errors on my own. There were moments when I got stuck and felt overwhelmed, but I refused to give up. Instead, I persevered, reaching out to online communities for help and seeking advice from more experienced developers.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Additionally, building the College API has opened up new opportunities for me in the field of software development. It has given me a valuable portfolio piece to showcase my skills to potential employers and clients, and has helped me establish myself as a credible and capable developer in the industry.

What we learned

What's next for College API

I plan to add more detailed information about each college, including the state in which it is located, its address, and its institution type. This will make the API even more valuable for developers who need more specific information about colleges in India.

In addition, I plan to expand the database to include all colleges in India, not just a select few. This will require a significant amount of research and data collection, but I am committed to providing developers with the most up-to-date and accurate information available.

Overall, my vision for the College API is to be the go-to resource for developers in India who need reliable and comprehensive data about colleges. With continued development and expansion, I believe it has the potential to make a significant impact on the education and career industries in India.
