College 101

Inspiration

As underrepresented minorities, we face different challenges everyday. We know the struggles of being a woman on a big college campus. We understand that we will not receive the same opportunities as our white counterparts.

What it does

We wanted to draw in users with an interactive game while providing resources and allowing first-years to experience a college campus without facing repercussions.

How we built it

We used Twine to build our interactive stories. We implemented our HTML skills to build a website and the chatbot in javascript.

Challenges we ran into

First we built our chatbot separately in eclipse using Java, but then we realized building the server was not feasible. So, we rewrote it in javascript.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a working website with a plethora of resources for minorities.

What we learned

We learned how to code in javascript and collaboration and time management.

What's next for College 101

We can expand this to other campuses and eventually communities.
