Collapse Giants pt. 1

Inspiration

We wanted to create a new form of interactive storytelling that feels more like living through an epic adventure than consuming traditional media. The inspiration came from imagining how small creatures might adapt and survive in a world reshaped by forces beyond their control—both literal and metaphorical.

What it does

Collapse Giants is an immersive voice-driven adventure that places players in the paws of Whisprym, a resourceful mouse navigating a post-apocalyptic world where massive techno-organic monsters have collapsed civilization. Players navigate through rich, cinematic scenarios by making tactical decisions, while the AI responds with adaptive narration that evolves based on their choices.

How we built it

The experience runs entirely through ElevenLabs' voice agentic AI technology, creating seamless audio-first interactive stories. We designed a character progression system where Whisprym's unique abilities (like Hollowstep Boots for silent movement and Echo Ears for environmental mapping) create meaningful strategic decisions throughout the survival experience.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was designing engaging interactive story mechanics that work purely through voice while maintaining the tension and excitement of action sequences. We had to rethink traditional storytelling principles to create compelling narrative experiences without visual interfaces or preset dialogue trees.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We've created a truly voice-first gaming experience that feels both cinematic and deeply personal. The seamless integration of tactical gameplay elements with narrative storytelling represents a new frontier in interactive entertainment where voice agentic AI transforms storytelling into lived experience.

What we learned

Voice-first interactive stories require a completely different approach to pacing and player agency. We discovered that players become more emotionally invested when they can naturally express their survival instincts and tactical thinking rather than selecting from limited options.

What's next for Collapse Giants

Collapse Giants exists within our larger Digital Wild universe... it's one of many "simulations" that players can access from their cozy home base called Bubble. We're expanding the story with additional chapters and developing more simulations (along with missions outside Bubble into the wider Digital Wild universe) that create a unique blend of high-stakes survival missions and peaceful downtime, all incorporating new AI tools as they continue to evolve.
