Inspiration
Many students have innovative project ideas but struggle to find the right teammates. Team formation often depends on friendships rather than technical skills, shared interests, or commitment. As a result, many promising ideas never become real projects. We wanted to build a platform that helps students discover projects, connect with skilled teammates, and collaborate efficiently within their college.
What it does
CollabAI is an AI-powered project collaboration platform built exclusively for college students.
Students can:
- Create and publish project ideas.
- Specify required technologies, skills, team size, and workflow.
- Browse projects created by other students.
- Send requests to join projects.
- View professional student profiles with skills, experience, certifications, GitHub, and previous projects.
- Chat privately with project members after being accepted.

Challenges we ran into
Building a collaboration platform required connecting multiple modules into a smooth workflow. Some of the biggest challenges included:
