Inspiration
I've worked with some brands and creators and kept seeing the same problem: it's hard to know who actually makes sense to collaborate with and what content will definitely drive engagement - it's a bit of a guessing game. Every tool out there just gives you lists of the “biggest” names (or whoever paid to be featured), but there’s no way to tell if your vibe really fits, or if their audience will actually care. Plus, i saw so many creators just doing #ad posts that felt random. I wondered if there’s a smarter way to know what your audience will actually want to see. so after finding out about the Qloo API, i thought this could be a great solution to the problem.
What it does
CollabScope is a platform for creators and brands to discover real partnership matches based on what actually matters: shared culture, interests, and audience. You tell us what you’re about, be that your style, what you make, what your audience loves, and our platform (hi, qloo and some perplexity sonar LLM magic) maps out your “cultural DNA.” Then it brings up matches: brands, events, product launches, even movies and content topics you should create content about. You get suggestions that actually make sense, plus why you’re a fit. If you’re a creator, just drop in your stats (even as a screenshot) and we’ll work it in. No awkward pitching, no cold DMs, just better, more fun opportunities.
How we built it
I plugged in Qloo’s taste intelligence API and perplexity's sonar LLM (which is awesome for web search) to handle all the smart matching, text analysis, and fetching “why you fit” explanations. Built it with react, tailwind, and made sure the whole thing works without anyone needing to make an account to get value. creators can upload stat screenshots and the ai reads them (almost every time, not gonna lie).
Challenges we ran into
The challenge is making the search effective even if not many brands or creators have signed up yet. Qloo helps a lot with entity and taste matching, but there’s always the worry about the “cold start” problem. I realised the solution is simply not to rely on people signing up at all - there is no need to create that barrier. We can simply find content, topics, events, and products which will help creators. Enough creators will bring both small and large brands to the platform, and make it even easier for connections to be made.
Accomplishments that we’re proud of
The design and the unique idea! You don’t need to slog through endless forms or pitch emails. We built something a solo creator or small brand can use on day one. Even if nobody else on your niche is signed up yet. The matches aren’t just brands, but also pop up events, launches, movie premieres, and bespoke topics you should make content about. It actually pulls in your stats and makes smarter recs, no matter your follower count.
What’s next for CollabScope
Features:
- Auto-notifications when your universe gets new matches, smarter re-scanning every week, and letting brands/creators signal “open to collab” easily.
- I'd want to roll out deeper analytics so creators can see what topics or formats are trending for their exact audience, not just everyone. A living, ever-evolving map of who (and what) you should partner with and promote to actually grow, create, and connect.
- Let creators and brands message within the platform, if they want to skip the awkward DMs or email pitches that get lost in email inboxes.
- Get the pricing model perfect - right now I don't know what the best approach is
Feedback is welcome!
