Inspiration Our inspiration for this project stemmed from the need to improve posthumous identification processes using modern technology. We were motivated by the potential to leverage facial recognition technology to assist in identifying deceased individuals, thereby streamlining and enhancing the efficiency of the identification process.

What it does Our project utilizes DeepFace technology integrated with Firebase and Streamlit to facilitate the identification of deceased persons using their government-issued identity documents. Users can upload images of these documents, and the system performs facial recognition to match them with stored facial images, ultimately determining the individual's identity.

How we built it We built the system using Python, leveraging Streamlit for the user interface and integrating DeepFace technology for facial recognition. Firebase was utilized for secure data storage and management, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.

Challenges we ran into One of the main challenges we encountered was optimizing the performance of the facial recognition process, particularly when dealing with large datasets of facial images. Additionally, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the identification process posed significant challenges that required careful fine-tuning of the DeepFace model.

Accomplishments that we're proud of We're proud to have developed a functional system that effectively addresses the need for posthumous identification using cutting-edge technology. Our system demonstrates the potential for technological innovation to enhance and streamline traditional processes in sensitive domains.

What we learned Through this project, we gained valuable experience in working with facial recognition technology, cloud-based databases, and web application development frameworks. We also learned the importance of robust data security measures when handling sensitive information.

What's next for Untitled In the future, we plan to further refine and optimize our system to improve its accuracy and performance. Additionally, we aim to explore additional features and functionalities, such as integration with other identity verification systems and automation of administrative tasks related to posthumous identification.
