Inspiration
We want to share information about many spectacular but somewhat unpopular games - not only video games, but also some logical games created by other developers - for more people to know, especially for students who need games to relax from heavy courseworks and responsibilities. Eventually, having a website integrating the information separated on the internet is a practical approach we chose.
What it does
For different categories within the main page, they link to some specific games and websites, which the website we created served as a library for others to access these games.
How we built it
Used HTML to build the website, CSS to create a detailed and interesting user interface, and used Javascript in some parts to create some special events after clicking the links.
Challenges we ran into
Building a user-friendly interface is a challenging quest, which took our members immense amounts of effort to fix and improve. Creating links to other webpages we created for the project is also a difficulty we ran into.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully gathered several games websites that are fun and meaningful for majority of the users, and also inserted some small surprises within our website.
What we learned
How to create user interfaces, making animations using CSS, and how to develop extra actions in a webpage.
What's next for Cold Hack Games
We're planning to expand the amount of games that can be found through our website. It is also a potential path to incorporate a search engine, which can provide more results to the users without manually adding the links into the website.
