Inspiration
For this Alternate Timeline music video I wanted to create a video that lived in a darkwave/indie style with a hint of goth energy. Striking visuals.
What it does
I enjoy placing my music videos in an alternate timeline as if they exist in reality (even being played on MTV) and exploring music genres I enjoy through AI music tools.
How we built it
I started with a set of visuals created in Midjourney focused on vivid and harsh dark visuals mixed with some 90's style photography. For this project, I then animated them in Midjourney, which helped maintain some consistency in style and movement. I worked back and forth with Chat GPT to build some lyrics that carried some emotional weight and depth, then I crafted multiple prompts in Suno to get eventually something that worked. I brought this all into Adobe Premiere where I edited, added any transition effects that felt necessary and did some additional color correcting. Finally I took the exported video into Topaz Video to upscale to 4k and add any minor sharpening adjustments.
Challenges we ran into
The process was generally quite enjoyable and smooth.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
As one of the first alternate timeline videos I made, I was really happy with how it came out. The song felt strong and the visuals carried the weight through that I wanted.
What we learned
As AI tools increase capabilities, I find it more and more compelling to create this style of output. I also feel there is a nice audience for this type of creative output in AI.

I have been building up a set of these Alternate Timeline music videos on my YouTube channel, managing to have a few get some heavy viewing.
