Inspiration We took inspiration from Mimo as it was effective and built solid habits to ultimately learn more about financial education. As a result, we thought it could be applied in this hackathon as a means to improve the financial well-being of the youth and community.
What it does Coinquest is an online website that educates and tests users on financial concepts ranging from simple financial goals to advanced investing. It utilizes educational methods ranging from multiple choice to in website project assignments.
How we built it We used npm to initialize a starter React project with JavaScript. We then used GitHub with separate branches to avoid conflicts as much as possible. We worked on separate components and consolidated them closer to the end of the hackathon.
Challenges we ran into We ran into challenges surrounding setting up the Map Blocks initially, we had to change our initial React component design to circumvent the challenge we initially faced!
Accomplishments that we're proud of The design of the map turned out extremely well. The colour scheme worked wl with the components.
What we learned We learned more about React and gained more confidence using npm.
What's next for Coinquest We can implement more advanced questions and topics. Also, we thought about implementing a community feature where students could interact with friends which could further enable better learning!
