Inspiration

You ever join a meeting and all goes well.. Till that one person joins that you vaguely remember, then you have to ask the question that turns all conversations awkward.. "Sorry, who are you again?". Chills. Our software is based on solving this exact problem, because trust me, no one wants to be this person

What it does

Image you had a meeting ago with a friend last month, he tells you yours plans. Then you meet up with him again. However this time, you have a friendly AI that helps you remember what he last said and what you guys last had a conversation on! Now you can always be ready to kick off to a great start and continue to have a great conversation once again!

How we built it

Hello Again is a see-through overlay on any video call: it spots faces (YOLO26 + InsightFace), matches them against consenting people in Tiger Data (pgvector), and uses Meta's Muse Voice Transcribe and Muse Spark to turn what's said into memory: last topic, a few facts, a recap. SerpApi adds places and events people mention.

Challenges we ran into

Zoom blocks normal window capture and macOS hands you the wallpaper when a permission is missing, so for a while nobody was recognized and only the logs could tell us why. Making the overlay helpful without being in the way (never covering a face, never jumping when someone moves) took as much work as the AI.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A live demo that works end to end: a stranger appears as "Recalling…", one click remembers them, and next time the card says who they are and what you talked about. Consent and deletion are built in, and it all launches from one double-click.

What we learned

The AI was the easy part; permissions, networks, windows and quiet UI were the real work. Remembering people is a privacy product first, and getting consent right made every other decision simpler.
