Cognitive Budgeting Companion

Inspiration

It is inspired by the need to make budgeting more intuitive and supportive for its users.

What it does

It takes in the user's monthly expenditure on various categories of products in their daily life, compiles this into a comprehensive expenditure report, as well as providing tips to minimize their monthly spending.

How we built it

We designed a prototype of the website on Figma. We used React js to create the application.

Challenges we ran into

We faced challenges in creating a multi-page web application and saving data between the pages, trying to design the website to match the figma design, and figuring out how to accesss OpenAPI in the correct format.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of working together to build something we've never attempted and creating a functioning web application from scratch.

What we learned

We learned how to work together as a team, we learned how to use software such as react and figma, and working on a hackathon project.

What's next for Cognitive Budgeting Companion

We would like to add more app features that can address cognitive biases and emotional challenges that people face with money.
