CogniMesh

Persistent Agent Memory. Collaborative Intelligence.

Overview

Artificial Intelligence is becoming increasingly capable, but many AI agents still operate with fragmented, short-lived context. They often lose important information between sessions, cannot effectively collaborate with other agents, and struggle to build durable organizational knowledge.

CogniMesh addresses this challenge by introducing a distributed, persistent memory layer that enables multiple AI agents to securely retain context, share knowledge, and coordinate intelligent workflows. Built using CockroachDB and AWS services, the platform combines resilient data storage with cloud-native architecture to support scalable, context-aware agentic applications.

Rather than treating each interaction as an isolated conversation, CogniMesh enables AI agents to build upon previous knowledge while maintaining consistency, resilience, and enterprise-grade reliability.

Inspiration

As AI systems become more autonomous, memory is emerging as a foundational capability rather than an optional feature.

We were inspired by a simple question:

How can multiple AI agents collaborate effectively if they cannot reliably remember, share, and build upon previous knowledge?

Current AI workflows often rely on temporary context that disappears after a session ends. This limits collaboration, increases repeated computation, and reduces the effectiveness of autonomous systems.

CogniMesh explores a different approach by treating persistent memory as shared infrastructure that allows intelligent agents to learn, coordinate, and improve over time.

The Problem

Modern AI applications commonly face several challenges:

  • Limited long-term memory
  • Fragmented agent knowledge
  • Repeated reasoning over identical information
  • Difficulty coordinating multiple AI agents
  • Lack of durable enterprise memory
  • Scalability challenges for distributed AI workloads

These limitations become increasingly significant as organizations adopt multi-agent systems for complex business processes.

Our Solution

CogniMesh provides a shared memory platform for AI agents.

The platform enables agents to:

  • Store persistent contextual knowledge
  • Retrieve historical information efficiently
  • Share memory across multiple intelligent agents
  • Coordinate complex workflows
  • Maintain resilient distributed state
  • Operate across cloud-native environments

CockroachDB provides resilient, distributed SQL storage for durable memory, while AWS services support scalable application deployment and orchestration.

Key Features

  • Persistent Agent Memory
  • Multi-Agent Collaboration
  • Distributed Knowledge Store
  • Context-Aware Decision Support
  • Enterprise-Grade Reliability
  • Cloud-Native Architecture
  • High Availability
  • Secure Memory Management
  • Scalable Distributed Storage
  • Extensible Agent Framework

Potential Use Cases

CogniMesh is designed to support a wide range of applications, including:

  • Enterprise AI Assistants
  • Customer Support Automation
  • Financial Services
  • Healthcare Decision Support
  • Cybersecurity Operations
  • DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering
  • Manufacturing Operations

How We Built It

Core technologies include:

  • CockroachDB for distributed SQL and persistent memory
  • AWS cloud services for scalable deployment
  • Python and FastAPI for backend APIs
  • React and Next.js for the user interface
  • LangGraph and LangChain for agent orchestration
  • Amazon Bedrock-compatible LLM integration
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • REST APIs and event-driven workflows
  • Docker containers for portability

Architecture

The solution follows a cloud-native architecture:

User → API Layer → Multi-Agent Orchestrator → Shared Memory Layer (CockroachDB) → AI Models → AWS Infrastructure

Each agent contributes to and retrieves from a shared memory layer, enabling collaboration while maintaining durable state.
