Inspiration

Our major inspiration behind this project was seeing the lack of fun and engaging flashcard memorization games. We wanted to make a project that truly had it's own style and narrative. After the 24 hours we believe we nailed our goal.

What it does

Cogni-Crawl is a 3D dungeon crawler where the main game-play loop is memorizing and replaying flash cards as fast as possible to beat various enemies (and bosses!)

How we built it

Our team used a good amount of software and strategy. The game engine we used was Godot, where we could assemble models and code. Our 3D creation environment was Blender, which allowed us to quickly assemble, alter, and animate our assets.

Challenges we ran into

We encountered various bugs and nit picks during the development period, but nothing compares to the exhaustion of being awake for such a period of time. However, we did not give up because of these trials. We endured, and we finished this project

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Long Hall Studios is most proud of the simple fact we were able to create this game within twenty-four hours. We are very proud of our members for the hard work they dedicated, especially to those whose first time it is working on Game Development.

What we learned

On top of learning our team strengths, we learned our strengths as individuals within Game Development. This was really powerful for us here at Long Hall Studios.
